I am not an academic researcher.

I have not been a classroom teacher since 1999.

I study the research, listen to researchers, listen to teachers and students, and test out everything I learn with my ongoing roster of students.

I have been providing PD in research-informed, evidence-based strategies (where possible) rooted in Structured Literacy since 1998.

I am an experienced PD provider, language arts instructor for pre-service teachers, and dyslexia interventionist for students of all ages and needs.

As you will see from my background, I incorporate social-emotional learning, language learning from birth, the "science of learning", and learning disabilities such as dyslexia & DLD into my work.

I do not have the expertise to offer system-wide implementation information or advice.

I am not an expert in curriculum-based measurements, however I have used DIBELS, Easy CBM, Acadience, Core Phonics, etc.

What I share reflects the best knowledge I have today—but I can’t guarantee it will work for your setting or students.
